Recently, we’ve been talking about accomplishing goals. Some of these goals may be ones that you haven’t tackled before. Since we’ve been focusing heavily on how to go about achieving your goals, you haven’t had time to bask in the positive emotions that come with new adventures! Take a moment to picture yourself accomplishing the goal. What will it look like? What will it feel like?
Here are a couple of tips for you to follow to really get in touch with some positive emotions and truly get excited about accomplishing your goals!
Take Time to Think
Daydreaming may seem like a childish activity that we did in high school when we weren’t paying attention to our teachers. It also has a bad rap in this world of productivity and “doing.” However, daydreaming has some of the same benefits as meditation. It allows your mind to take a break and opens up a range of possibilities.
Take some time out of your day to think about the process, even if it’s in the shower. You may be surprised at the new ideas that could come to mind!
Talk About It
Don’t keep your goals and dreams inside your own head. Talk to someone about it. As humans, we are individuals of false modesty. That is, we are taught not to brag or boast. However, the line between bragging and sharing good news has become quite blurry.
Don’t be afraid to share your progress! Remember, if they’re not excited for you, they’re not your friend. Remember last week when we talked about cutting out negativity? Surround yourself with people who want to encourage you to achieve your goals.
We’ve mentioned this before, but don’t think about your goals as chores! Think of them as new opportunities and character builders. Be excited about them!
